Online Tool 8: Microsoft OneDrive

What is OneDrive?

Microsoft OneDrive is an online file-hosting service provided to all WWU students. Students are allotted 25gb of storage for free with their Office 365 account. OneDrive is compatible with Office Web Apps.

Key features

  • OneDrive can be accessed from anywhere through a web browser, or from an iOS, Android, or Windows mobile device.
  • Files can be easily shared between users. This includes non-Western students and faculty, and even people without an Office 365 account.
  • Through the web versions, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations can be edited on computer without the need for an installed copy of the Office Suite.
  • Files and entire folders can be uploaded to the OneDrive, making it easy to back up key documents.
  • Windows users can sync their OneDrive to a folder on their computer automatically. This functionality is supposed to come out for OS X later this year.
