WORKSHOPS: ePortfolios with Special Guest, Dr. David Goldstein, UW Bothell

David S. Goldstein is a senior lecturer at the University of Washington Bothell, where he has taught for sixteen years, and also serves as Director of its Teaching and Learning Center, which recently won the Exemplary Teaching and Learning Center Award at an international higher education conference. The recipient of the University of Washington Distinguished Teaching Award, his research and writing lie in the scholarship of teaching and learning as well as in ethnic American literature. He earned a Ph.D. in comparative culture from the University of California, Irvine, before moving to Seattle, where he lives with two adult housemates, two teenagers, two cats, two chickens, and one wife.

Dr. Goldstein directs the teaching and learning center at UW Bothell and has extensive experience as a faculty member, using ePortfolios from an instructional and administrative perspective. In this workshop, participants will learn how ePortfolios can enhance student learning outcomes without additional burden on the instructor by providing robust instructor feedback when students are likeliest to use the feedback.

* 1-2: Using ePortfolios for Program/Curriculum Assessment

Learn how administrators, advisors, and faculty members can use student ePortfolios to assess department-wide learning outcomes, and use the results to improve the curriculum to better help students learn.
