Webinar & Discussion - Copyright and Fair Use: Faculty OWNERSHIP of Copyright

Time: 2/28/2013 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Viking Union 567

How copyright and fair use laws apply to teaching, research, and publications is not always clear. The increasing ease of copying and distributing digital materials raises the stakes even more. Learn the key concepts that every faculty member needs to know in applying copyright law in the classroom (online and face-to-face), research, and scholarly publications.

The focus of this session is Faculty Ownership of Copyright, including what, when, how, and who own copyrighted works, how to manage copyright and publication agreements, and what is involved for "open content" requirements.

Join us in the Viking Union for a "site connection" to this live webinar from Academic Impressions, co-sponsored by the Library/Learning Commons and the Center for Instructional Innovation.

The last 30 minutes of this session will be dedicated to discussion and sharing resources.
