Faculty GUR Group: Actresses and Whores: The History of Ladies on the Stage (Part 1 of 2)

Time: 2/22/2011 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: Humanities 107

Actresses and whores seem to have been synonymous throughout the history of theatre either by actual deeds or forced imagery created for the stage. Reinforcement of this idea occurs today not only by the perceived actions of the actress herself, but also by the roles written for women to play. This mini-course will cover the sordid history of a lady’s role for the theatre on and off stage.
